The Young Leaders - Inspiring Mentors Program

The Young Leaders - Inspiring Mentors Program

  • Program duration and structure: The mentoring journey lasts 12 months, involving

    • Regular interactions with the IM’s of approximately every 4 to 6 weeks, through a mix of face-to-face, telephone, and digital contacts.

    • Via regularly organised YL gatherings that bond the group and cover different topics such as: enlarging one’s circle of comfort, develop a solid noble purpose, learn about societal impact, learn about one’s mindset, ego and human potential, leadership, ...

  • Customized goal setting: The IM-YL duo determines the objectives and desired outcomes at the start, deciding on topics, meeting formats, and frequencies. And yet, often it is during the journey that additional and/or different topics emerge and are taken on. This is OK!

  • Personal and professional growth: The journey focuses on both personal (soft skills) and professional (hard skills) development, maintaining a balance between these two aspects. It is through developing the YL that they will become better leaders in their respective fields, and better human beings.

  • Guidance and challenge: The IM provides valuable advice, helps to build self-esteem, and challenges the YL's objectives and perspectives to foster deeper self-awareness and impact. Guidance can often be going deep and become personal, depending on what emerges and how the journey evolves.

  • Exploration and decision-making: The IM helps the YL to explore different options, analyse their value and relevance, and make well-informed decisions about the next steps in their leadership journey.

  • Exposure to leadership aspects: The IM introduces the YL to various aspects of leadership, including organizational operations, governance, and strategy, enhancing their understanding of running organizations and projects.

  • Network expansion: The IM connects the YL with relevant people and networks and builds opportunities to support their growth and societal impact.
